Soletude

A man alone in front of his piano, with his back facing the world, composing, playing, dancing, seeking, surrounded by 4 performers – waiting, dancing, falling, loving, waiting, seeking - and a sound wizard, all alone in front of his overloaded effects board, but still connected by tweaking the sound of the piano. How solitude is displayed in a rough minimalistic dark scenery surrounded by hope, love and happiness. A place to be alone , a place where solitude is challenged in our most existential loneliness.

Inspiration

From the Diaries of Franz Kafka
"April 27. Incapable of living with people, of speaking. Complete immersion in myself, thinking of myself. Apathetic, witless, fearful. I have nothing to say to anyone - never."

"Being alone has a power over me that never fails. My interior dissolves (for the time being only superficially) and is ready to release what lies deeper. When I am willfully alone, a slight ordering of my interior begins to take place and I need nothing more."

26 December. Two and a half days I was, though not completely, alone, and already I am, if not transformed, at any rate on the way. Being alone has a power over me that never fails. My interior dissolves (for the time being only superficially) and is ready to release what lies deeper. A slight ordering of my interior begins to take place and I need nothing more, for disorder is the worst thing in small talents.
